Dr Sarah Ghavami

I believe that meaningful change often begins with feeling heard and understanding ourselves. Counselling can offer a place to slow down, make sense of what is happening and explore new ways forward. I provide a warm, respectful and compassionate space where you can speak openly and move at a pace that feels right for you.

My passion is to walk with you in your journey whether it is experiencing anxiety and overwhelmed, or navigating life, or exploring questions of identity and belonging.

My approach is person-centred, collaborative and trauma-informed. This means that you are the expert in your own life and I am there to help you explore who you are and how you want to direct your life. Together, we can discover the experiences and patterns shaping your present, recognise your strengths and consider practical steps towards change.

My own experience of migration and career change has given me a personal appreciation of transition, uncertainty and rebuilding a sense of direction. My background as a university lecturer and mentor has also shaped my ability to listen, communicate clearly and work with people from diverse backgrounds.

You do not need to arrive with the right words or a clear plan. We can begin with what feels most important to you and decide together whether I am the right counsellor for your needs. By the way, I offer counselling in English and Persian.
